(7:11 pm ET) Oakland RP Kevin Cameron relieved starter Brett Anderson in the 7th inning of Monday's win over the Mariners. The A's did not feel they needed to go to their bullpen again in the game and Cameron pitched the final three innings for his first career save. He allowed two hits and no runs and struck out two. His ERA is 1.93 on the season.

(3/15/2008) MLB.com reports Padres RP Kevin Cameron, in competition for a spot in the bullpen, suffered a setback Wednesday when he fractured his left thumb under unusual circumstances. Cameron was walking the outfield during batting practice when he was struck on the left thumb by a batted ball. The injury does not affect Cameron's throwing. He threw a bullpen session Thursday, but had someone else catch the return throw from the catcher. There is no timetable for his return to action. "He just can't get his fingers in his glove right now," acting manager Craig Colbert said.

Acquired in the Rule V draft from the Minnesota Twins' organization last December, Cameron has a 0.82 ERA in 44 innings over 33 appearances. Cameron got a shot at the win Friday because RHP Trevor Hoffman suffered only his third blown save of the season and his first since April 27.
