(7/17/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin was back in the starting lineup Friday against the Cubs after he was unable to start the last game before the All-Star break due to an illness. He did pinch-hit Sunday, drawing a walk in his lone at-bat.

He is batting .333 (15 for 45) with one triple, two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, eight runs, three walks, 11 strikeouts and two stolen bases through 12 games in July.

(7/8/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin managed just one hit in five at-bats Wednesday in Milwaukee - but it was a doozy. He got the scoring started in the third inning with a three-run homer.

Maybin continues to be one of the pleasant surprises of baseball in 2015. He now boasts an eight-game hitting streak during which he has two home runs, seven runs and seven RBI. He is batting. 394 (13-for-33) during that stretch and owns a slash line on the year of .295/.362/.429.


Report: Teams believe Braves could deal CF Cameron Maybin

(7/6/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin has never achieved at the plate anything close to what he has recorded this season. And other teams believe Atlanta might be looking to sell high and trade him by July 31, according to ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney.

Maybin has been hot in July with nine hits in 24 at-bats, including two doubles and a home run, to break a 6-for-35 skid. He boasts a slash line on the year of .294/.363/.416. All three numbers represent career-bests.

(7/4/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin fell a triple short of the cycle on Saturday, as he went 3 for 5 with a double, a home run, two RBI and three runs scored in the 9-5 win over the Phillies.

Maybin, who also stole his 15th bag of the season, knocked his seventh home run of the season in the second inning. His solo shot gave the Braves an early 5-0 lead. 

Maybin has managed to stay hot at the plate recently, as he's hitting .326 with two home runs over his last 10 starts.

"He's a beast man; I tell him all the time. He comes to play every single day," Braves pitcher Alex Wood said, per MLB.com. "And the only thing you see out of him is hustle and heart from start to finish and it's really, really fun to watch."

(7/2/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin played hero on Thursday against the Nationals. Maybin came up to the plate with the score tied 1-1 in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out and the possible winning run on second base.

Maybin promptly chopped a Max Scherzer pitch over the third base bag, allowing Eury Perez to motor in from second to win the game, 2-1. It was Maybin's only hit of the game, but it was the only one that mattered.

(6/29/2015) Braves outfielder Eury Perez checked out OK after colliding with Cameron Maybin in the outfield in the bottom of the ninth Sunday against the Pirates, per MLB.com. 

Maybin was fine after the collision, but Perez was down on the warning track for a few minutes holding his torso before leaving the game under his own power. However, Perez's stomach and ribs checked out without injury upon further evaluation.

"I was a little nervous. I thought we were going to lose two players out there," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We dodged a bullet there."

Perez, who entered the game in left field in the eighth inning as a defensive substitution, said through a translator he didn't hear anyone else calling for the fly ball. But he knew after the play he wasn't seriously hurt.

"We're playing for each other. We've got each others' backs and going hard," said Jason Grilli, who was pitching at the time of the collision. "I'm glad everyone is OK. That's the most important thing."

(6/26/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin was held out of the starting lineup Friday against the Pirates for the first time since June 2. Eury Perez started in his absence.

Maybin does not have a good track record against Pirates starting pitcher Francisco Liriano, who is on the mound Friday. He has struck out in all five of his career at-bats against the lefty.

Maybin has enjoyed a productive month offensively, batting .337 with one home run, two doubles, 14 RBI, 10 runs and six stolen bases in 21 games in June.

(6/24/2015) Cameron Maybin generated the only run for the Braves during a 3-1 loss Tuesday against the Nationals when he hit a two-out solo home run off Matt Thornton in the eighth inning. It was his only hit in five at-bats.

Maybin homered for the first time in 23 games on Tuesday. However, he is having a pretty good run offensively in June. He is batting .338 (27 for 80) with one double, one home run, 14 RBI, 10 runs, eight walks, 12 strikeouts and six stolen bases in 19 games.

Maybin's batting average has increased from .268 to .286 in his last 19 games.

(6/18/2015) Braves center fielder Cameron Maybin has been scorching at the plate during the month of June, and continued that on Thursday.

Maybin went 2 for 4 with a run scored against the Red Sox on Thursday. The multi-hit performance was his ninth in 14 games this month.

In June, Maybin is hitting .388 with 26 hits and 11 RBI.

(6/13/2015) Cameron Maybin was the hero for the Braves on Saturday, driving in three runs, including the go-ahead, two-run single in the 11th inning of a 5-3 triumph over the Mets. 

Maybin made up for a big error he committed in the seventh inning, tallying an RBI single in the ninth as the Braves rallied to tie the score, and then lining a single to center to provide the difference in the game.

"It's part of the game," Maybin said, per MLB.com. "Luckily, we still had a chance to be in the game. That's all I really care about."

Maybin has been red-hot recently, with hits in nine of his last 10 games and four three-hit efforts over that same stretch, to lift his average to .303.

Maybin was one of only a few Braves to find any offense against Gerrit Cole and the Pirates, as the Braves racked up just six hits as a team. He has turned in four straight multihit efforts, going 11 for 19 during that stretch but managing no extra-base hits during those four games. Maybin has hit .296/.371/.428 with five home runs, 26 RBI and nine stolen bases in 152 at-bats.

"It was cool, man," Maybin said of hitting second after the game, per MLB.com. "I didn't really change my approach, tried to keep the same approach -- be a tough out, get a good pitch to hit and just make sure I'm on base, somehow, someway. Whenever I can do that good things happen, and good things happened tonight."

Maybin has excelled since taking over the full-time starting role in center field on May 2, going 17 for 54 with nine runs and 21 RBI.

"My confidence is high," Maybin said. "I've been able to put in some really good work with [hitting coach Kevin Seitzer] in the cage. And every day is a competition. Every day I feel like you have to fight to keep the job, win the job. So my mentality is to come out and go hard everyday and things will work out."

Maybin has hit .255/.352/.426 with four home runs, 17 RBI and five stolen bases in 94 at-bats.
