(4/14/2009) The Boston Red Sox optioned infielder Travis Denker to Triple-A Pawtucket after claiming him off waivers from the San Diego Padres. To make room for Denker on the 40-man roster, General Manager Theo Epstein said right-hander Miguel Gonzalez was being transferred to the 60-day disabled list after elbow surgery.

"I'm starting to feel it. For me it's not trying to do too much and just try to have a good at-bat," Denker said. "The timing is right there."

(3/6/2008) According to The Sports Xchange notes: Travis Denker has impressed management with his hot hitting -- .385 (5-for-13) with one homer and five RBI. Denker, 22, acquired from the Dodgers in August for 1B Mark Sweeney, is ticketed for another season in the minors. He hasn't played higher than Class A.
