(3/2/2008) Blue Jays RP Davis Romero allowed one earned run on three hits Sunday in an 8-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds. It was the first spring training appearance for Romero, who is coming off surgery to repair a torn labrum which kept him out all of last season.

(2/18/2007) LHP Davis Romero is small in stature -- 5-foot-10, 155 pounds -- but displayed poise and mound presence in seven appearances with the Jays in '06, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA. Last year he started the season at Double-A New Hampshire, going 6-7 with a 3.43 ERA in 14 starts. After moving to Triple-A Syracuse he was 4-4 with a 3.83 ERA in 18 appearances, including three starts. He'll be pushing for a spot in the bullpen this spring.
