(6/30/2009) The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that the Phillies have acquired SP Brian Mazone from the Dodgers for future considerations.

(4/5/2009) Shortstop Chin-Lung Hu, shortstop Juan Castro, first baseman Doug Mienkiewicz, second baseman Luiz Maza, outfielder Jason Repko, outfielder Xavier Paul, catcher A.J. Ellis, pitcher Jeff Weaver, pitcher Eric Stults, pitcher Tanyon Sturtze, pitcher Erick Threets, pitcher Brian Mazone, pitcher Brad Halsey, pitcher Joshua Lindblom and pitcher Eric Milton did not make the Dodgers' inital 25-man roster Sunday. Also, Will Ohman was purchased from the minor leagues and added to the 25-man roster Sunday.

(1/9/2009) The Dodgers have agreed to terms with 15 free agents, including longtime big league shortstop Juan Castro. The Dodgers said Thursday they also agreed to terms with right-handers Yhency Brazoban, Travis Chick, Nick Debarr, Edgar R. Martinez and Scott Strickland; left-handers Carmen Cali, Brian Mazone, Jacobo Meque, Stephen Randolph and Erick Threets; first basemen-outfielders Mitch Jones and Valentino Pascucci; and infielders Hector Luna and Luis Maza.

(3/10/2008) The Phillies optioned RHP Joe Bisenius, RHP Scott Mathieson, LHP J.A. Happ, IF Brad Harman to minor leagues. Also, they reassigned RHP Ron Chiavacci, RHP Zack Segovia, LHP Brian Mazone, LHP Joe Savery, C Tuffy Gosewisch, C Lou Marson, SS Jason Donald, IF Mike Cervenak, 1B Andy Tracy and OF Valentino Pascucci to minor league camp.

(12/18/2007) The Phillies signed outfielder Brandon Watson, catcher Paul Hoover, reliever Vic Darensbourg, 1B Andy Tracy and outfielder Val Pascucci to minor league contracts. They were invited to spring training, along with RHP Carlos Carrasco, 1B Mike Cervenak, RHP Ron Chiavacci, SS Jason Donald, OF Greg Golson, C Tuffy Gosewisch, C Tim Gradoville, 3B Brennan King, RHP Gary Knotts, C Lou Marson, LHP Brian Mazone, LHP Josh Outman, LHP Joe Savery and SS Casey Smith.

Mazone goes to Korea


(5/11/2007) Phillies LHP Brian Mazone, who was starting at Triple-A Ottawa, had his rights sold to the Samsung Lions of Korea. Mazone, 30, was 3-2 with a 2.21 ERA in six starts for Ottawa but remained a long shot to be called up to Philadelphia. To replace Mazone, the Phillies signed RHP Jason Anderson of the Somerset Patriots of the independent Atlantic League. Anderson, 27, was 5-2 with a 3.29 ERA in 60 relief appearances last season at Triple-A Portland.

They also reassigned C Jason Hill, Jason Jaramillo, Tim Gradoville and Lou Marson, IF Andrew Beattie, OF Lou Collier and Greg Golson, P Jim Crowell, John Ennis, Jeff Farnsworth, Yoel Hernandez and Brian Mazone.
