(12/11/2013) Free-agent pitcher J.D. Martin has signed with the Samsung Lions in Korea, FOX Sports reports. Martin went 16-4 with a 2.75 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 116:26 K:BB ratio in 160 1/3 innings over 27 Triple-A starts last season.

(10/11/2013) Rays pitcher J.D. Martin elected to become a free agent, MLB.com reports Friday. Martin did not pitch in the majors this year; in 160 1/3 innings for Triple-A Durham, he posted a 2.75 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP.

(9/23/2013) To clear a spot on the 40-man roster for reliever Jesse Crain, who they activated from the 60-day DL, the Rays designated right-hander J.D. Martin for assignment Monday. Martin, who last pitched in the majors in 2010, was 16-4 with a 2.75 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 6.5 strikeouts per nine innings in 27 starts at Triple-A Durham.

(9/22/2013) The Rays will designate pitcher J.D. Martin for assignment Monday, the Tampa Tribune reports. Martin was just called up Sunday and was available out of the bullpen with Enny Romero making his debut; however, the team did not use Martin in the 3-1 win.

(9/22/2013) The Rays called up pitcher J.D. Martin from Triple-A Durham Sunday, and he will be available out of the bullpen for Sunday's game against the Orioles, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Martin, 30, made 27 starts for Durham this season, going 16-4 with a 2.75 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 116:26 K:BB ratio in 160 1/3 innings. His last major-league action came as a member of the Nationals in 2010, when he went 1-5 with a 4.13 ERA in nine starts.
