Brewers cut seven from major-league camp Friday

(3/14/2014) The Brewers optioned first baseman Sean Halton and pitchers Mike Fiers and Hiram Burgos to Triple-A Nashville after Friday's 9-8 win over the Diamondbacks.

The team also re-assigned catcher Matt Pagnozzi, infielder Eugenio Velez, outfielder Kevin Mattison and pitcher Dustin Molleken to minor-league camp.


Brewers sign three to minors deals

(10/1/2013) The Milwaukee Brewers have already begun signing players Tuesday, MLB.com reports. The Brewers have signed infielders Eugenio Velez and Hector Gomez and catcher Robinzon Diaz to minor league contracts with invites to spring training. These players will have to earn a roster spot in the spring next year.

(7/22/2013) The Blue Jays released utility player Eugenio Velez from the organization Monday, Sportsnet.ca reports. He was batting .270 with seven home runs and 21 steals over 69 games with Triple-A Buffalo.
