Matt Palmer sidelined with elbow issue

(2/28/2014) Mariners pitcher Matt Palmer will miss a few days due to an elbow injury, according to MLB.com.

Palmer has a strained elbow, and will be held out of action for 3-4 days. He's a candidate to compete for a starting spot, though he's viewed as a long shot. Palmer did not pitch in the majors last season. He's posted a 4.56 ERA over 185 1/3 career innings.

(6/20/2013) Dodgers pitcher Matt Palmer is under consideration to take the mound for Sunday's start against the Padres, MLB.com reports. Palmer is not on the 40-man roster, so a spot would have to be cleared in order for him to be promoted.

Palmer is 3-3 with a 4.26 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 57 innings with Triple-A Albuquerque.
