(3/27/2014) The Marlins have dispatched outfielder Jake Marisnick and second baseman Donovan Solano to Triple-A New Orleans and sent shortstops Juan Diaz and Austin Nola, outfielder Matt Angle and pitchers Chris Hatcher and Henry Rodriguez to minor league camp.

(1/9/2014) The Miami Marlins announced Thursday the 22 non-roster players that have received an invite to major-league spring training, the Sun Sentinel reports.

Pitchers Jesus Sanchez and Kevin Slowey, reliever Josh Spence, infielder Juan Diaz and outfielders Matt Angle and Joe Benson all signed minor league contracts with spring training invites.

Austin Barnes, Kyle Skipworth, Danny Black, Mark Canha, Colin Moran, Austin Nola, Anthony DeSclafani, Bryan Evans, Colby Suggs, Rett Varner, Nick Wittgren, Adam Conley, Andrew Heaney, James Leverton, Greg Nappo and Justin Nicolino -- all non-roster organizational players -- were extended invites to spring training.

(11/16/2013) The Marlins have signed shortstop Juan Diaz to a minor-league deal. He spent all of the 2013 season with Triple-A Columbus, hitting .242/.317/.348 with eight home runs and 45 RBI in 442 at-bats.

(9/1/2013) The Cleveland Indians promoted five players from the minors as part of September callups Sunday, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. In order to make room, the team designated outfielder Tim Fedroff and infielder Juan Diaz for assignment.

Both players were at Triple-A Columbus for most of this season. Fedroff batted .242 (124 for 513) with six home runs, 48 RBI and 22 stolen bases over 136 games.

Diaz, who did see some time up with Cleveland at one point this year, batted .242 with eight homers and 45 RBI over 122 games at Columbus.

(6/4/2013) The Indians opted to recall shortstop Juan Diaz from Triple-A Columbus after placing Asdrubal Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday. Diaz, who appeared in five games for Cleveland last year, was batting .211 with four home runs and 18 RBI in 52 games for Columbus.

(3/18/2013) The Indians have optioned shortstop Juan Diaz to Triple-A. Diaz, 24, reached Triple-A last year and played five games for Cleveland in September as well. He spent the bulk of 2012 at the Double-A level, where he hit .259/.309/.423.
