Phillies send Harman to Double-A

(5/9/2008) To clear a roster spot for SS Jimmy Rollins, activated from the 15-day DL on Friday, the Phillies optioned infielder Brad Harman to Double-A Reading. Harman found out he was heading down by looking at the lineup and not seeing his name. But he knew the move was likely coming. "I had an option, so I knew it was a possibility," Harman said. "I'm ready to get back, get my at-bats in and do what they want me to do."

Harman recalled from Double-A

(4/20/2008) Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday for the first time in his eight-year career because of a sprained left ankle. Last year's NL MVP hurt the ankle on April 8 against the Mets while scrambling back to second base on a pickoff play. Rollins has not started a game since he was hurt, but had pinch-hit four times, including Saturday's game against New York. The Phillies also placed outfielder Chris Snelling (left knee inflammation) on the disabled list. The Phillies recalled infielder Brad Harman from Double-A Reading and outfielder T.J. Bohn from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Eric Bruntlett is expected to see most of the starts at shortstop with Rollins sidelined.

Savery among slew of Phillies cuts

(3/10/2008) The Phillies optioned RHP Joe Bisenius, RHP Scott Mathieson, LHP J.A. Happ, IF Brad Harman to minor leagues. Also, they reassigned RHP Ron Chiavacci, RHP Zack Segovia, LHP Brian Mazone, LHP Joe Savery, C Tuffy Gosewisch, C Lou Marson, SS Jason Donald, IF Mike Cervenak, 1B Andy Tracy and OF Valentino Pascucci to minor league camp.

Phillies add Harman to 40-man

(11/19/2007) The Phillies purchased the contract of 2B Brad Harman from Class A Clearwater and C Jason Jaramillo from Triple-A Ottawa.
