Lillibridge made the team thanks to a hot spring, batting .333 with a .948 OPS. He has appeared in 60 games at second base in his career, including three starts last season for the Indians.
Lillibridge is expected to serve as a backup infielder once Barney returns.

Lillibridge, who is in camp on a minor-league deal, has played all over the field throughout his career and is well-known for his versatility. “You always want to hear that you are on the radar,” Lillibridge said. “I am going to do what I have done every spring training -- get my work in and try to have good at-bats. I have been working my butt off all winter to be ready for an opportunity. If I showcase what I can do, then it will be a no-brainer for them. If that happens, hopefully I will be in Chicago soon.”
