Diamondbacks sign Argenis Diaz to minor-league deal

(6/22/2014) The Diamondbacks have signed shortstop Argenis Diaz to a minor-league deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports. Recently released by the Reds, Diaz hit .245/.291/.313 with one home run and 18 RBI in 163 at-bats.

Chien-Ming Wang one of four demoted by Reds

(3/20/2014) Veteran right-hander Chien-Ming Wang was among three pitchers sent by the Reds to minor league camp on Thursday. The others were Drew Hayes and Lee Hyde. Also sent down was infielder Argenis Diaz.

The 34-year-old Wang has not been effective since 2008, though he performed decently for Washington in a short stint in 2011.


Tigers swipe players off roster

(3/19/2013) The Detroit Tigers made a host of roster moves Tuesday, optioning pitchers Duane Below, Jose Ortega and catcher Bryan Holaday to Triple-A Toledo and optioning second baseman Hernan Perez to Double-A Erie. Detroit also reassigned outfielders Nick Castellanos and Tyler Collins, shortstop Argenis Diaz and pitcher Trevor Bell to its minor-league camp.
