Tejada, 0-0 with a 2.65 ERA in 12 relief appearances, has tendinitis in his right rotator cuff and was placed on the DL retroactive to Thursday. The Royals purchased the contract of righty Roman Colon from Triple-A Omaha, recalled infielder Tug Hulett from Omaha and activated lefty John Bale (thyroid surgery) from the DL as well.

(8/10/2008) Seattle recalled infielder Tug Hulett from Triple-A Tacoma to take Willie Bloomquist's roster spot. Hulett was acquired in a trade with Texas last offseason, and was hitting .298 with 22 doubles and 14 homers in 90 games with Tacoma. He made his major league debut with Seattle in July, but appeared in only one game during his one week stint.
