Adam Moore suffers torn meniscus

(6/30/2014) Padres minor-league catcher Adam Moore is sidelined indefinitely after suffering a torn meniscus, MLB.com reports.

The team may add another catcher to the Triple-A roster to account for the injury, though the report states they won't promote top prospect Austin Hedges to the Triple-A level. Moore has hit .298/.364/.480 with eight home runs and 23 RBI in 225 at-bats with Triple-A El Paso.

Moore, who was 3 for 10 in a brief stint with the Royals earlier this season, hit .191/.284/.405 with eight home runs and 23 RBI in 131 at-bats with Triple-A Omaha.

Moore is hitting .190 with five homers and 12 RBI in 24 games in the minors. He is expected to be sent back down to Omaha once Perez returns.
