Dodgers acquire Brock Peterson from Nationals

(7/1/2014) The Dodgers have acquired minor-league first baseman Brock Peterson from the Nationals in exchange for cash considerations, TrueBlueLa.com reports. Peterson hit .250/.332/.367 with six home runs and 31 RBI in 264 at-bats with Triple-A Syracuse.

Nationals demote seven to minors

(3/20/2014) Veteran reliever Ross Ohlendorf headlines a group of Nationals sent to Triple-A Syracuse on Thursday. The others are shortstop Zach Walters, catcher Jhonatan Solano and pitcher Christian Garcia. Dispatched to minor league camp were pitcher Manny Delcarmen , first baseman Brock Peterson and second baseman Will Rhymes were optioned to minor league camp.

Ohlendorf had experienced back spasms this spring that have limited him to one inning in which he surrendered two runs on four hits.


Nationals sign three to minor-league deals

(12/21/2013) The Nationals have signed shortstop Emmanuel Burriss, catcher Mitch Canham and first baseman Brock Peterson to minor-league deals, Baseball America reports.

Burriss owns a .243/.304/.269 line in 720 at-bats over five major-league seasons and hit .241/.294/.266 with one home run, 24 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 369 at-bats with Triple-A Louisville last season.

Canham hit .261/.360/.381 with two home runs, 26 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 291 at-bats with Double-A Northwest Arkansas while also going 5 for 15 in six appearances with Triple-A Omaha.

Peterson went 2 for 26 with the Cardinals last season in his first exposure to the majors while also hitting .296/.364/.531 with 25 home runs and 86 RBI in 456 at-bats with Triple-A Memphis last season.


Nats ink Brock Peterson to minor-league deal

(12/13/2013) The Nationals have signed outfielder Brock Peterson to a minor-league deal, with an invitation to spring training. Peterson batted .296 with 25 homers and 86 RBI over 122 games for Triple-A Memphis last season under the Cardinals' organization.

The team now has three open spots to add players to the roster. All three players saw minimal time with the big league club in 2013.

Shane Robinson hit the disabled list, so the team had room to add another player. Peterson is hitting .305/.382/.563 in 357 at-bats at Triple-A Memphis.

(7/27/2013) The Cardinals optioned outfielder Brock Peterson to Triple-A Memphis Saturday to make room for the activation of outfielder Matt Holliday off the DL, MLB.com reports. 

Peterson went 1 for 7 in his short stint with the Cardinals. He drove in two runs in his first taste of the major leagues.

(7/20/2013) The Cardinals called up first baseman Brock Peterson from Triple-A Memphis Saturday, to take Matt Holliday's place on the active roster. Holliday was placed on the disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Peterson was hitting .306 with a PCL-leading 22 home runs at the time of his call-up. He has never appeared in the major leagues.
