Royals bring in Ramon Troncoso

(3/14/2014) The Royals have signed right-hander Ramon Troncoso to a minor league contract. Troncoso was sent to Triple-A by the White Sox after a 2013 season in which he made 29 relief appearances and struggled with his control, walking 16 in 30 innings pitched.

Troncoso has been sidelined since August 15 with pericarditis. In 24 innings, Troncoso has a 5.25 ERA.

Troncoso was 1-4 with a 5.25 ERA over 25 appearances. He had one hold and 16 strikeouts.

(8/17/2013) The Chicago White Sox placed relief pitcher Ramon Troncoso on the 15-day disabled list Saturday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The team has not released what injury Troncoso is dealing with. The reliever has made 25 appearances for the White Sox this season and has a 5.25 ERA.

(6/6/2013) White Sox reliever Ramon Troncoso has been called up to the majors.

The team is looking for extra bullpen help after their 16-inning game against the Mariners Wednesday. Brian Omogrosso was sent to Triple-A to clear space for Troncoso, and the team also placed Jake Peavy on the disabled list. Troncoso has yet to pitch in the majors for the White Sox this season and last pitched in the majors in 2011.
