De Los Santos shelved after surgery


(3/4/2011) Angels minor league catcher Anel De Los Santos had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb on Friday, according to the Los Angeles Times. He injured the thumb during a drill last month. He is expected to miss at least two months as he recovers. Last season, De Los Santos batted .225 in 71 at-bats with Double-A Arkansas.
