Rockies bring up pitcher, catcher from Colorado Springs

(8/27/2014) The Rockies have promoted pitcher Christian Friedrich and catcher Jackson Williams from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

Friedrich is coming up despite a 7.00 ERA at that level and 9.45 ERA in three starts with Colorado. Williams owns a stat line of .256/.353/.368 with the Sky Sox.

Williams took over for Michael McKenry while McKenry was on the bereavement list. Williams did not appear in a game in the majors during his brief stint.

(6/23/2014) The Rockies announced Monday they placed catcher Michael McKenry on the bereavement list. To take his spot on the roster, the Rockies selected the contract of catcher Jackson Williams from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

The spot is likely temporary, as Michael McKenry will be placed on the bereavement list for the next few days. Williams will be his replacement.
