White Sox add Daniel McCutchen to Triple-A team

(6/27/2014) The White Sox signed pitcher Daniel McCutchen to a minor-league contract Friday, the team announced. He has been assigned to Triple-A Charlotte.

McCutchen allowed two runs in 2 1/3 innings earlier in the season with the Rangers, and has a 4.81 ERA in 191 major-league innings overall.

(4/16/2014) Right-hander Daniel McCutchen has cleared waivers by the Rangers and will report to Triple-A Round Rock. McCutchen gave up two runs on four hits and two walks in 2 1/3 innings in his only appearance with Texas this season.

The club needed to activate Colby Lewis for his start, and decided to part with McCutchen. McCutchen appeared in one game, tossing 2 1/3 innings with the club. He allowed two earned runs during the appearance.

(4/7/2014) Rangers pitcher Daniel McCutchen will rejoin the team Monday.

McCutchen was already up this season, but was sent down on Saturday in order to make room for Nick Martinez. Joe Saunders was placed on the disabled list Monday, which is why McCutchen was brought back.

McCutchen was sent down in order to make room for Nick Martinez, who is expected to make his major-league debut. McCutchen allowed two runs in 2 1/3 innings prior to being sent down.

(4/1/2014) The Rangers announced Tuesday they purchased the contract of pitcher Daniel McCutchen from Triple-A Round Rock and catcher Chris Gimenez was designated for assignment. The Rangers also outrighted Michael Kirkman to Triple-A after clearing waivers.

(12/19/2013) The Rangers signed right-hander Daniel McCutchen to a minor-league deal Thursday. The former Pirate spent 2013 in the Orioles organization.

He was suspended 50 games early in the season for testing positive for a banned substance but returned to compile a 3.43 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 8.1 strikeouts per nine innings in 25 appearances, including seven starts.

(4/6/2013) Orioles minor-league pitcher Daniel McCutchen has been suspended for 50 games without pay after violating the league's drug policy, reports MLB.com Saturday.

The suspension begins immediatley. 

McCutchen, formerly of the Pirates, switched to pitching sidearm this spring. He is playing with Triple-A Norfolk in the Orioles' organization this season and was 1-0 with a 6.14 ERA over 7 1/3 innings this spring.

(3/14/2013) Orioles reliever Daniel McCutchen  is experimenting with a new delivery, according to MLB.com. Coaches told McCutchen they would like to see him lower his arm slot. McCutchen tested the new delivery during an intrasquad game. While he struggled in his first outing, hitting a batter, walking a batter and tossing a wild pitch, McCutchen is encouraged by the change. McCutchen spent most of last season with the Pirates' Triple-A club. He was a non-roster invite by the Orioles this spring.

(11/13/2012) The Orioles signed reliever Daniel McCutchen to a minor league deal Monday, according to MLBTradeRumors.com. McCutchen faced only two batters for the Pirates in 2012, allowing a walk and a home run, but at Triple-A Indianapolis, he posted a 7-2 record and a 2.98 ERA.
