Danny Worth back in game action

(6/10/2013) Tigers infielder Danny Worth took his first two at-bats Mondaysince injuring his heel in mid-April, MLive.com reports. 

Worth saw two at-bats for Class A Lakeland before the game was suspended due to rain. He was 0 for 2 with a strikeout. 

Worth, who was the last player cut by the Tigers in spring training, has been on the disabled list at Triple-A Toledo. 

"I'm just happy to be here," Worth said via text message late Monday afternoon. "I hope I can help the ballclub. I just want to give it my best shot and, the good Lord willing, things will work out."


Danny Worth to work out at extended spring training

(5/21/2013) Tigers infield prospect Danny Worth suffered a setback while recovering from a bruised right heel, according to MLB.com.

Worth is shut down from most activity until he's pain free. He is expected to head to Florida Wednesday to work out at extended spring training. Worth remains optimistic about rejoining his Triple-A squad at some point next week.

(4/17/2013) Tigers minor leaguer Danny Worth left Wednesday's game for Triple-A Toledo in the top of the fourth inning due to a bruise on his left heel suffered earlier in the game, MLive.com reports. 

He's being called day to day. 

"He's got a little bruise on his heel," Toledo manager Phil Nevin said. "He should be fine. Maybe just take a day (Thursday)."

Worth has not hit well for Toledo thus far. He's batting .136 with 14 strikeouts over 46 at-bats for the Mud Hens. He was 0 for 1 before leaving Wednesday.

(3/28/2013) The Tigers optioned infielder Danny Worth to Triple-A Toledo Thursday, meaning Ramon Santiago secured the final spot on the team's bench. Worth went 1 for 2 Thursday against the Astros and hit .333 (14 for 41) in 26 spring games.

(9/1/2012) The Toledo Blade reports the Tigers have made several roster moves now that rosters have expanded Saturday. Detroit has added utility players Danny Worth, Ryan Raburn and Don Kelly to the roster. They have also called up reliever Luis Marte and catcher Bryan Holaday.
