Trayvon Robinson's back injury lingering

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(3/28/2013) Orioles outfielder Trayvon Robinson remains day-to-day Thursday with soreness in his lower back, according to MASNsports.com. Robinson's back stiffened Wednesday after batting practice and again Thursday morning. Robinson, who is trying to play his way onto the roster, is batting .326 (14 for 43) with two homers, four doubles and seven RBI in 22 spring games.

Trayvon Robinson dealing with back issue

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(3/24/2013) Baltimore Orioles outfielder Trayvon Robinson was forced to leave Sunday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates with a lower back issue, reports MLB.com.

Robinson singled in the first inning of the game but then walked off the field with head athletic trainer Richie Bancells. Robinson was replaced in the game by Lew Ford and is considered day to day for the moment.

Robinson is a long shot to break camp with the Orioles but has played well this spring. He's batting .310 with two homers, six RBI and three steals over 42 at-bats.

Robinson impresses Saturday

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(2/23/2013) Baltimore outfield hopeful Trayvon Robinson homered late in Saturday's Grapefruit League opener against Minnesota. Robinson was also solid in the outfield, according to manager Buck Showalter, reports MASNSports.com. "He played the elements well today," Showalter said, referencing the wind blowing out to left field. "Tray had a good day. Hitting a home run is not something Trayvon's foreign to. We like him. I talked to him about the fact that, just because he came off the (40-man) roster doesn't change the way we feel about him. He's going to get an opportunity here to show what he can do. Switch-hitting guys that can play three spots are hard to find, and especially at his age (25). He's still a young man."

Robinson hoping to earn a spot

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/16/2013) Orioles outfielder Trayvon Robinson suited up for the team's first official full-squad workout Saturday, just a few days after clearing waivers and being outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk make room for pitcher Todd Redmond. "I thought I was going to be somewhere else,'' Robinson said, per ,Baltimore Sun, "but it's the timing, too, so I'm not really worrying about it. I didn't give up hope. I can still make it to the big leagues, and it starts in spring training. I just want a long look and a chance to show what I can do at the big league level. I never really have stayed in spring training long enough for somebody to look at me."

Robinson clears waivers
