(5/27/2015) Twins pitcher Casey Fien won't likely have the same role he had before going on the disabled list, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Reliever Blaine Boyer has supplanted himself in the setup man role, according to manager Paul Molitor.

"I like what Boyer's done," Molitor said. "I think everyone has a lot of confidence when he's in the game late right now. Not to say that can't change.

"I guess if I had to say right now, in the short term, most likely Fien would precede Boyer in a ball game."

Fien is expected to return from the disabled list this week after battling a shoulder injury for the last month. Fien is 1-2 with a 4.35 ERA in 10 1/3 innings of work.

The team has not revealed when they expect either player to return to the club, but as long as there are no setbacks in their rehabs, it should not be long before they are back.

Twins RP Casey Fien reports no issues after bullpen session

by Sean d'Oliveira | CBSSports.com
(5/20/2015) Twins pitcher Casey Fien was able to throw a bullpen session Wednesday and reported no issues, reports MLB.com.

"He did fine. He's going to Rochester and he'll start a rehab assignment in the next day or two," Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said. "He'll go out and pitch once and then have a day or two off. In a perfect world we'd like to see him pitch back-to-back days and come out fine. But I don't think we've circled a number of appearances or games or anything. But at the same time we want to make sure it's worthwhile so he's ready to come up."

"It went awesome," Fien said to MLB.com. "I let it go a little bit. Threw 30 pitches. I threw everything. Since I've been playing catch I've been throwing everything just to make sure everything feels good. So everything went well and we have a plan now."
