Taylor Green focusing on third base this spring

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(2/21/2014) Brewers first baseman Taylor Green will attempt to play third this spring, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Green is hoping shifting to third provides him with more of an opportunity to fit into the team's long term plans. Green has been up with the club a few times in his career, and has been used at second, third and first base. He was expected to compete for the first base job last season, but underwent surgery on his hip and missed the entire season.

In 140 career at-bats, Green has hit .207/.266/.343 in the majors.

Taylor Green invited to spring training with Brewers

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(10/21/2013) The Milwaukee Brewers have signed infielder Taylor Green to a minor league contract Monday. He has been invited to spring training with the team.

The contract includes opt-out clauses which would come up should Green not make the majors with the Brewers by certain points.

Green missed most of last year due to hip surgery, but is a career .289 hitter in the minors.

Taylor Green reinstated from disabled list

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/3/2013) Brewers first baseman Taylor Green has been reinstated from the disabled list Thursday and optioned to Triple-A.

Green had been sidelined all season due to a hip injury. Green was sent down upon being activated from the DL. He hit .184/.265/.340 in 103 at-bats in 2012.

Taylor Green hits waivers

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(10/3/2013) The Brewers have placed infielder Taylor Green on waivers rather than restore him to the 40-man roster, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Green, who remains on the team's 60-day disabled list, suffered a hip injury during spring training and underwent surgery that kept him out the entire season. He has hit .207/.266/.343 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 140 at-bats.

Taylor Green hopes to be ready for winter ball

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(8/16/2013) Brewers third baseman Taylor Green (hip) visited the team in Milwaukee Thursday to be examined by head team physician William Raasch, MLB.com reports. Green is expected to return to Phoenix on Friday could be back to 100 percent in time for winter ball.

"It's going great," Green said. "You just have to stay with the rehab timetable."

Taylor Green's hip surgery will end season

by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com
(4/19/2013) Brewers infielder Taylor Green's scheduled surgery Tuesday will end his season, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Green has been dealing with a hip issue since spring training. It was initially reported the surgery would put him on the shelf for an "extended period," but now the Brewers and Green are saying the surgery will be season ending.

Green is a .207/.266/.343 hitter over 140 career at-bats with Milwaukee.

Taylor Green to undergo hip surgery

by Jack Moore | CBSSports.com
(4/19/2013) Brewers infielder Taylor Green is slated to undergo hip surgery next Tuesday and will miss a "considerable" amount of time, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Green likely would have earned substantial playing time at first base with Corey Hart and Mat Gamel injured, but he has been on the disabled list since before the season started. There is no firm timetable for his return.

Taylor Green suffers setback

by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com
(4/10/2013) Brewers first baseman Taylor Green, on the 15-day disabled list, suffered a setback while participating in fielding drills on Monday, MLB.com reports.

Green has been recovering from a left hip labrum injury.

"He hopefully was going to play [Wednesday], but it doesn't look like it's going to be the case right now," assistant general manager Gord Ash said Tuesday.

by Bill Passonno | CBSSports.com
(3/26/2013) The Brewers placed first baseman Taylor Green on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a left hip injury, retroactive to last Friday. Green, an early candidate to help fill in for the injured Corey Hart at first base, has been dealing with the issue over the past week.

Taylor Green, Jeff Bianchi still dealing with injuries

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(3/25/2013) Brewers infielders Taylor Green and Jeff Bianchi, who are both dealing with hip injuries, were able to play catch and complete workouts Monday, reports MLB.com. Manager Ron Roenicke said there remains no firm target date for their returns.

Bianchi perhaps has the more troubling issue as he has played only one game since March 2 and is also dealing with a groin ailment.

"It’s hard to figure," Roenicke said, "because he’s not coming along real fast. Wednesday, I would hope we have a lot better answer on this."

Bianchi and Green are both considered backup infield options.

Taylor Green has 'some kind of a deep hip strain'

by Ed Gauna | CBSSports.com
(3/23/2013) Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Saturday that infielder Taylor Green will likely need more than a day or two to return from his hip injury. Green, who is competing for a bench spot, first felt the injury during batting practice this week, and Roenicke has described it as "some kind of a deep hip strain."

"He's still sore, but he's tough and he'll go out and play through it, and you can't do that with where he is right now," Roenicke told MLB.com. "There's a difference between hitting a ball off your shin, and you've got a big old knot on your shin and playing through the pain -- it's different when there's a little tweak or injury."

Taylor Green injures hip

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(3/21/2013) Brewers utility-man Taylor Green injured his hip taking swings Tuesday, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He's expected to miss a couple of games.

Green hasn’t performed well this spring, but his versatility made him an interesting option to make the team’s opening day roster. Green is capable of playing all infield spots except short.

The 26-year-old hit .184/.265/.340 in 117 plate appearances with the Brewers last season.

Green in the first base mix

(2/22/2013) Brewers manager Ron Roenicke told the Journal-Sentinel that Taylor Green will play some first base while Corey Hart recovers from knee surgery. Green, 26, hit .184 with three home rune in 103 at-bats with the Brewers last year.
