Astros' Trinidad accepts assignment


(7/26/2010) The Astros outrighted lefty Polin Trinidad to the Triple-A Round Rock Express on Sunday. He had been designated for assignment, but he cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to the minors.

Astros cut 11 players from camp


(3/17/2010) The Astros cut the following players from their spring rosters: left-handers Fernando Abad and Polin Trinidad; righties Evan Englebrook, Chia-Jen Lo, Matt Nevarez, Jose G. Valdez and Henry Villar; catcher Lou Santangelo; infielder Wladimir Sutil; and outfielders Brian Bogusevic and Yordany Ramirez. Lo and Santangelo came into as non-roster invitees. The others were on the 40-man roster and have been optioned.

Astros sign five to split contracts


(2/11/2010) The Astros signed five players, including RP Alberto Arias, to one-year split contracts, according to The Sports Xchange. Arias made 42 relief appearances with Houston in 2009, finishing 2-1 with a 3.35 ERA and 39 strikeouts. Also signed were pitchers Sammy Gervacio and Polin Trinidad, as well as outfielders Brian Bogusevic and Yordany Ramirez.

(3/16/2009) The Houston Astros optioned RHP Samuel Gervacio, LHPs Tyler Lumsden and Polin Trinidad, OF Yordany Ramirez and INF Drew Sutton to Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday. Also, they reassigned non-roster 3B Mark Saccomanno to minor league camp.
