(9/3/2014) Marlins pitcher Mike Dunn was stuck with a loss Wednesday, giving up two earned runs on two hits while recording just one out in his team's 4-3 defeat against the Mets.

Dunn (10-6) sandwiched a strikeout between two singles before coming out of the game, and the next pitcher in allowed both runners to score. He owns a 3.53 ERA and 58:18 K:BB ratio in 51 innings.

(8/15/2014) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn picked up his team-high 10th win of the season Thursday, as the Marlins took down the Diamondbacks 5-4 in 10 innings.

Dunn tossed a scoreless ninth and 10th innings on 28 pitches, while striking out three batters, as the Marlins went on to win in walk-off fashion. The win pushes him to 10-5 with a 3.65 ERA in 44 1/3 innings of work on the season.

(8/12/2014) Marlins pitcher Mike Dunn earned a save Tuesday against the Cardinals. 

Dunn only faced one batter, but got the job done. With the Marlins up by three runs, St. Louis managed to bring the tying run to the plate in the final inning. Dunn was called upon to face Matt Adams, and managed to pick up a strikeout, ending the game. It was Dunn's first save of the season.

(7/27/2014) Red Sox reliever Andrew Miller is believed to be the Braves' top bullpen target with the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline looming, according to CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman.

Diamondbacks reliever Oliver Perez, Cubs reliever Wesley Wright, Rangers reliever Neal Cotts, Astros reliever Tony Sipp and Marlins reliever Mike Dunn are other left-handed relievers believed to be available in a trade and could be targets for Atlanta.

(7/12/2014) Marlins pticher Mike Dunn was saddled with a loss Saturday after giving up one earned run on two hits in two-thirds of an inning and striking out one in his team's 5-4 defeat against the Mets.

Dunn (7-5) followed up a two-out double by giving up the game-deciding single in the bottom of the eighth inning before recording the final out of the frame. He owns a 3.51 ERA and 41:14 K:BB ratio in 35 2/3 innings.

Dunn (7-4) closed out the eighth inning with a strikeout and his team down 1-0, but a two-run home run in the top of the ninth put him in line for his second win in his last two appearances. Dunn owns a 3.44 ERA and 40:13 K:BB ratio in 34 innings.

(7/5/2014) Marlins pitcher Mike Dunn picked up a win Saturday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning in his team's 6-5 victory over the Cardinals.

Dunn (6-4) gave up a hit in the eighth inning but needed just eight pitches to send the game to the top of the ninth, where the offense turned a one-run deficit into a one-run lead. Dunn struggled in April but has pitched well since, giving up just five earned runs in 23 innings since the end of April. He owns a 3.48 ERA and 39:!3 K:BB ratio in 33 2/3 innings.

(6/13/2014) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn was pegged with his four loss of the season Friday night against the Pirates.

Dunn (5-4) surrendered a two-run home run to Gregory Polanco in the 13th inning to give Pittsburgh the lead for good. The right-hander permitted two runs on two hits, with no walks and no strikeouts in one inning of work. He owns a 4.15 ERA and a 1.35 WHIP in 26 innings of relief.

(4/16/2014) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn's early season struggles continued Wednesday, as he allowed the game-winning home in a 6-3 loss to the Nationals.

Dunn was unable to record even a single out, as he gave up a leadoff home run to begin the ninth inning and then walked the next batter he faced before being pulled.

Dunn is now 0-2 in seven appearances, and has allowed at least one run in four of those trips to the mound. He has a 9.53 ERA in 5 2/3 innings this season.

(1/17/2014) The Marlins have avoided arbitration with pitchers Steve Cishek and Mike Dunn, avoid arbitration with both pitchers, the team announced Friday.

Cishek is set to make $3.8 million, while Dunn will get $1.4 million in 2014. Cishek finished a league-high 62 games last season while going 4-6 with a 2.33 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, 74:22 K:BB ratio and 34 saves in 69 2/3 innings. Dunn pitched 67 2/3 innings while posting a 3-4 record, 2.26 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 72:28 K:BB ratio


Mike Dunn nails down four-out save

(8/1/2013) With regular closer Steve Cishek unavailable, the Marlins called on reliever Mike Dunn to close out Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Mets.

Dunn entered the game with two outs in the bottom of the eighth and completed the four-out save. He allowed a leadoff single to open the ninth inning, but quickly retired the side by striking out two of the next three batters.

Dunn now has two saves on the season, while ranking 10th in the National League with 14 holds. He has a 2.93 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in 46 innings, while striking out 44 batters.

(6/6/2013) A league source said the Marlins have told clubs around the league reliever Mike Dunn will not be available in a trade leading up to the July 31 non-waiver deadline, according to MLB.com. Mike Dunn is under team control this season, won't reach arbitration until next year and won't become a free agent until 2017.

Dunn is 1-1 with a 3.08 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with seven holds in 30 appearances this season.

(5/28/2013) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn suffered his first blown save as he took the loss Tuesday night against the Rays.

Dunn, who entered the game in the eighth inning, could not hang on to a one-run lead as he surrendered a run-scoring single to Yunel Escobar in the eighth. He allowed back-to-back singles to lead off the ninth inning and was pulled with two outs in the frame. Chad Qualls gave up a single to Desmond Jennings in the ninth to end the game.

Dunn saw his ERA rise from 1.71 to 2.38 after a 7-6 defeat.

(5/20/2013) Marlins manager Mike Redmond said Monday he plans to use "everybody" as a closer going forward, the Palm Beach Post reports. 

Redmond specifically mentioned Steve Cishek, Mike Dunn and Chad Qualls by name. Qualls was warming in the bullpen with a 2-1 lead Monday, but the Marlins extended that lead into a non-save situation. 

Dunn notched his first save of the season Sunday when he recorded the last out after Cishek was pulled.

(5/19/2013) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn finished Sunday's 2-1 win after closer Steve Cishek struggled to get the job done in the ninth inning. Dunn came on after Cishek allowed a single and a walk with two outs.

Dunn walked the bases loaded before getting pinch hitter A.J. Pollock to ground out to shortstop to end the threat. It was Dunn's first 2013 save and second career save.

(5/19/2013) Marlins reliever Mike Dunn has been one of the team's top relievers in 2013. He's 1-0 with a 1.77 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and six holds in 22 outings.

He has 20 strikeouts in 20 1/3 innings and has been especially sharp at home, not allowing a run in 10 innings.

"Every game's the same. It's just attack the hitters," Dunn said to MLB.com. "Whether it be at home or the road, I feel like I'm having a good year all around. It doesn't really matter where we're at. You've just got to go out and do your job no matter where it is."
