Carignan working way back

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(2/12/2013) Oakland reliever Andrew Carignan is eight months removed from Tommy John surgery as camp opened Tuesday, reports MLB.com. Carignan threw 25 pitches and is on track to continue similar side sessions twice a week for about five more weeks. He is preparing to return to action in June. "He's basically on the same page that Brett [Anderson] was on last year, but as a reliever," pitching coach Curt Young said. "Hopefully we can get him back by late June, somewhere in there, but his rehab is going great."
