News:Terrell Young (shoulder), a Rule-5 pick a year ago, was returned to the Reds by the Nationals on Monday.
Analysis: Young spent the year on the DL and will have to work his way back to health in the minor leagues. We don't expect to see him in the majors in 2010 at this point.
News: Washington Nationals outfielder Josh Willingham has been placed on the bereavement list after a death in his family. Washington purchased the contract of outfielder Corey Patterson from Triple-A Syracuse. Pitcher Terrell Young (right shoulder) was transferred from the 15- to the 60-day disabled list.
Analysis: Young has a future, but he is nothing more than organizational depth at this point. Ignore him in all Fantasy leagues right now. Patterson might see some playing time but until he proves able to hit major league pitching is not a worthy Fantasy option in anything but the deepest of NL-only leagues.

News: The Washington Nationals activated pitcher Terrell Young (right shoulder inflammation) from the 15-day DL and offered him back to the Reds, who have to pay half of his claiming price back.

News: From the The Sports Xchange: RHP Terrell Young, the top pick in December's Rule 5 draft, remains at extended spring training in Viera, Fla., working his way back from right shoulder inflammation. Young has only recently resumed a throwing program, and Nationals acting GM Mike Rizzo said his return is weeks, not days away. Once the reliever is healthy, the Nationals will need to decide what to do with him. As a Rule 5 pick, Young must either be added to the 25-man roster or be offered back to the Reds, unless the two teams can strike a deal.
Analysis: Young is a talented young arm, but he is nothing more than a low-end middle reliever for the deepest of NL-only leagues that use true middle men, once healthy. Ignore him at this point.
News: The Nationals placed RP Terrell Young on the 15-day DL Friday with shoulder inflammation.
Analysis: Young was slated to be a long reliever if he made the Nationals out of spring, but now he'll likely be headed to the minors once he gets healthy. Continue to ignore him in all formats.
News:Collin Balester, Jordan Zimmermann and Terrell Young each pitched two scoreless innings and the Nationals beat the Tigers 2-1 Thursday. The 22-year-old Balester is the only of the trio with major league experience, having started 15 games for the Nationals last year. He and Zimmermann are vying for spots in the rotation and Young is a Rule 5 draft pick who must either make the team out of camp or be offered back to the Reds. "I tried to be as calm as possible and not get too worked up, and I think that helps me," the 22-year-old Zimmermann said. "I wasn't nervous at all. I just got up there and did my thing."
Analysis: Zimmermann is the Nats' best pitching prospect, passing Balester in the minds of many. Young figures to be a long reliever if he makes the team, which looks possible. Consider these guys in NL-only formats as sleepers right now, but Zimmermann is the guy to watch most closely in long-term keeper leagues.
News: The Nationals selected right-hander Terrell Young with the first pick of the Rule-5 draft Thursday, taking him from the Reds. The Kansas City Royals made three selections during the Triple-A phase at the winter meetings. They chose left-hander Jose Lugo ninth overall and then traded him to the Mariners for cash. Players chosen in the draft must stay on the active major league roster with their new club all season or be offered back to their old team for $25,000. "He is a tremendous athlete," assistant GM Mike Rizzo told MLB.com. "His fastball is 93 to 96 mph. He has a developing slider and a very good changeup. His walk trend has improved over the last three years. We see him coming into spring training and competing for a full-time job with us."
Analysis: The 24-year-old Young went 2-5 with a combined 2.88 ERA between two levels of Class A ball in 2008, his fifth professional season. He will likely make the roster as a reliever at best, so don't consider him viable in Fantasy this season.
