Outfielder Ryan Kalish missed last season due to a shoulder injury and underwent cervical fusion surgery on his back in August. He could be playing with a different team next season.

In other moves, the Red Sox sent infielder Brandon Snyder and outfielder Quintin Berry outright to Triple-A Pawtucket.
