Twins sign Corey Wimberly to minor-league deal

(1/4/2014) The Twins have signed outfielder Corey Wimberly to a minor-league deal, MLBDailyDish.com reports.

Wimberly split 2013 between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Gwinnett, hitting .252/.302/.319 with one home run, 16 RBI and nine stolen bases in 254 at-bats. He has yet to play in the majors in his career.

(3/25/2012) Mets second baseman Corey Wimberly, who signed as a minor-league free agent in the offseason, broke his hand in a collision with Cory Vaughn during a spring training game and will miss five weeks, according to ESPN.com.
