Indians make a few roster moves Monday

(3/24/2014) The Indians announced Monday they optioned CC Lee to Triple-A Columbus, while sending Bryan LaHair and David Cooper to minor-league camp. The Indians also released pitcher Aaron Harang.

(3/4/2014) Indians infielder David Cooper will remain with the club, according to MLB.com.

Cooper cleared waivers, but decided to return to the team as a non-roster invite. He was designated for assignment after the team acquired infielder Justin Sellers.

(12/9/2013) According to MLB.com, the Indians re-signed first baseman David Cooper on Monday, bringing him back on a major league deal.

Cooper, who played parts of 2011 and 2012 with the Blue Jays, appeared in 13 games in the Indians' minor league system in 2013. He missed most of the season due to a back injury.

(8/31/2013) First baseman David Cooper, who had been playing on a minor league contract in the Indians organization, has opted out of his contract with Cleveland, MLB.com reports Saturday.

Cooper has become a free agent. He last played in the majors in 2012 with Toronto and hit .300 over 140 at-bats.

(8/13/2013) The Indians announced Tuesday they signed free agent first baseman David Cooper to a minor-league contract. The former Blue Jays prospect, who has been sidelined since the spring with a back injury, will report to Triple-A Columbus once healthy enough.

(3/13/2013) CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman reports the Blue Jays have released first baseman David Cooper, according to sources. The Blue Jays have an interest in re-signing Cooper, who is expected to miss most of the 2013 season because of a back injury.

(2/17/2013) Toronto first baseman David Cooper has not reported to spring training due to a lingering back issue, reports Sportsnet.ca Sunday. Cooper finished last year on the disabled list due to a back problem and it has apparently not healed after a winter of rest. Cooper is consulting with a specialist.
