White Sox add seven to active roster

(9/2/2014) The White Sox purchased the contract of outfielder Michael Taylor from Triple-A Charlotte Tuesday, one of seven roster moves made as part of September roster expansion.

The team also announced the recall of pitchers Chris Bassitt, Scott Carroll and Eric Surkam, outfielder Jordan Danks, catcher Josh Phegley and infielder Marcus Semien

(8/25/2014) The White Sox have optioned outfielder Jordan Danks to Triple-A Charlotte Monday, the team announced. Danks hit .190 (15 for 79) with two home runs and nine RBI in 33 games for Chicago. He hit .289 (11 for 38) in his latest stint in the majors.

(8/9/2014) The White Sox have placed leadoff hitter Adam Eaton on the disabled list with a right oblique strain and promoted fellow outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte to take his place.

Eaton was removed from his last two games with the issue. He had been on fire before the injury set in with 39 hits in a 21-game stretch that sent his average soaring from .265 to .309.

Danks took Robbie Ross deep for a two-run home run in the third inning. He finished 1 for 4 with one walk, two runs scored and two RBI in a 16-2 win. He has just two hits in his first 15 at-bats to start the season.

(4/10/2014) In the first game after it was announced outfielder Avisail Garcia would miss the rest of the season due to a shoulder injury, the White Sox aligned their outfield with Alejandro De Aza in left field, Adam Eaton in center field and Dayan Viciedo replacing Garcia in right field Thursday vs. Cleveland.

Viciedo and De Aza are likely to see more playing time in Garcia's absence. Jordan Danks, who was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte, is likely to work into the outfield mix as well. The White Sox have Leury Garcia listed as a reserve outfielder on the team's depth chart, but he has yet to make a start in the outfield this season.

(4/10/2014) The White Sox recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte Thursday after placing outfielder Avisail Garcia on the 15-day disabled list. Garcia will miss the rest of the season due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Danks was batting .182 (4 for 22) with one home run and four RBI in six games with Charlotte after hitting .333 (14 for 42) with a team-high five homers and 10 RBI in 20 games during spring training.

(11:34 pm ET) White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks had a nice game during a rout of the Minnesota Twins on Monday night. Danks had two hits and two RBI in the contest.

Danks finished the game 2 for 4 with two runs scored. He added a walk as he doubled for one of his two hits. Danks' other hit was his fourth home run of the season.

The 27-year-old brother of John Danks has hits in three straight games and just nine RBI on the year over 125 at-bats.

(8/28/2013) White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks registered three hits in a win over Houston Tuesday night. Danks doubled twice on the night.

Danks' single to center in the eighth, however, was the big one as it played two runs to give Chicago its first and last lead of the game.

The center fielder went 3 for 4 with two RBI and is batting .261. He's gone 7 for 13 with four doubles, a homer and four runs driven in over his last five appearances for Chicago.

Danks went 2 for 4 in the game. Both of his hits were singles as he lifted his average to .183.

The 27-year-old Danks has gone 3 for 7 over his last three appearances, which has raised his average almost 20 percentage points.

(5/6/2013) White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks delievered the game-winning home run in the 11th inning of Monday's 2-1 win at Kansas City. Danks, who entered the game as a pinch runner in the ninth, hit his first home run of the season on a 3-1 pitch off Kelvin Herrera.

It could have been a two-run homer, but Alex Rios was caught stealing two pitches earlier. Danks is 3 for 13 (.231) with two RBI in seven games.

(5/2/2013) White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks did not appear in Thursday's game against the Rangers, but he believes his sore right knee is healthy enough that he can play.

"There's a little fluid in the knee, but there's no pain at all. Really, it's just kind of range of motion," Danks told MLB.com. "We tried to drain it [Wednesday] and it was a little too thick. It's just whenever I'm ready to run again."

Danks is more of a reserve outfielder for the White Sox , having appeared in just six games this season, four of them starts.

Danks had his right knee wrapped after crashing into the fence, according to the Chicago Tribune. The White Sox announced that he has an inflamed bursa sac in his right knee.

Danks is hitting .167 in 12 at-bats. Dewayne Wise will replace the 26-year-old in the lineup.

(4/28/2013) White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks doesn't have a hit in his last three games and is batting .167 (2 for 12) through six appearances, but he's happy with his progress, especially after drawing three walks in his last three games.

"A lot of times in the past I've been getting myself out on pitches, being a little too early on them and swinging at bad pitches and grounding out and wasting at-bats," Danks said. per MLB.com. "I feel like the more pitches I see, the more walks I get and the better pitches I get in hitters' counts."

Danks has started two straight games and four of the last seven. Manager Robin Ventura said Danks could continue to factor into the mix with Dayan Viciedo on the disabled list.

"That's one of those things where you are getting guys who are getting extended opportunities that they normally wouldn't get," Ventura said. "He's going up there and battling."

(4/20/2013) With Dayan Viciedo being placed on the disabled list Saturday, Jordan Danks, Dewayne Wise and Blake Tekotte are expected to see playing time for the White Sox.

Danks drew the start Saturday against the Twins.

"Last year, I knew my role was going to be the off-the-bench kind of guy and an occasional start here and there," Danks told MLB.com. "But with Viciedo going down, I feel like there's going to be a lot more playing time. I'll kind of utilize the opportunity."
