Ehire Adrianza unlikely to return this season

(8/27/2014) Giants infielder Ehire Adrianza is heading to the team's spring-training facility in Arizona for more rehab work, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

Adrianza estimates that he's a month away from being ready for game action, which means he's unlikely to return to major-league action this season. The infielder is recovering from a hamstring injury.

(7/25/2014) The Giants announced several roster moves prior to Friday's series opener against the Dodgers, the Bay Area News Group reports.

the team placed infielders Marco Scutaro (back) and Ehire Adrianza (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list. To clear a roster spot for the move, the Giants designated infielder Nick Noonan and pitcher Jose De Paula for assignment.

Adrianza reinjured his hamstring during Thursday's game. Manager Bruce Bochy said he expects Adrianza to be placed on the disabled list Friday. Adrianza is hitting .234 in 94 at-bats.

Adrianza finished 1 for 4 with a run scored in his first game action since landing on the disabled list with a right hamstring strain. It remains to be seen how many rehab games he'll need before rejoining the big-league club.

Adrianza was scheduled for an MRI Monday, and the team apparently saw something in the results that put Adrianza's timetable at more than day-to-day. He started experiencing soreness in the hamstring a few days ago. Adrianza has hit .213/.259/.267 in 75 at-bats.

Adrianza began feeling soreness in the hamstring within the last couple days. Not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Padres, he remains day-to-day going forward

The following players will be brought up from various levels of the minors: Infielders Nick Noonan and Ehire Adrianza; outfielders Francisco Peguero and Juan Perez; relievers George Kontos, Jake Dunning and Heath Hembree; and catcher Johnny Monell.

(3/15/2013) The San Francisco Giants completed another round of roster cuts Friday, optioning pitchers Dan Otero, Jake Dunning, Chris Heston and Sandy Rosario, shortstops Ehire Adrianza and Nick Noonan and outfielders Roger Kieschnick and Juan Perez to Triple-A Fresno. Pitcher Edwin Escobar was sent to Class A San Jose. The team also reassigned Brett Bochy, Boof Bonser, Steve Edlefsen, Heath Hembree, Michael Kickham, Mitch Lively, Shane Loux, Ricky Oropesa, Adam Duvall, Brock Bond and Gary Brown to its minor-league camp.
