Mets release Brad Holt

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/30/2013) The Mets have released pitcher Brad Holt, according to ESPNNewYork.com. He posted a 4.08 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and 45 strikeouts in 53 innings while pitching mostly in Double-A in 2012.

Holt is a former first-round pick and former top-100 prospect, according to Baseball America.

Mets transition Holt to reliever

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(7/5/2011) Mets SP prospect Bradley Holt continues his transition to a relief role after New York pulled him from the Binghamton rotation in late June. Holt went 2-6 with a 5.04 ERA in 13 starts, but he has since gone 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA and .227 opponents' batting average in 6 1/3 innings as a reliever. "It's going to take getting used to," Holt told MLB.com. "I've been a starter my whole life. It's going to take adjustments." Holt is trying not to look as the move to the bullpen as a demotion. "I'm excited about it," Holt said. "It's a chance for a new start."
