Diamondbacks activate C Oscar Hernandez from DL; Dorn optioned

(6:19 pm ET) The Diamondbacks have reinstated catcher Oscar Hernandez from the 60-day disabled list, the team announced on Saturday. Hernandez has been out all season due to a broken hand.

Hernandez played in 13 rehab games, going 8 for 38 with three RBI.  

As a Rule 5 draft pick, the Diamondbacks must keep a healthy Hernandez on the 25-man roster, or risk losing him back to the Rays.

The D-Backs have optioned outfielder Danny Dorn to Triple-A to clear room on the roster for Hernandez.


Diamondbacks recall 1B/OF Danny Dorn from Triple-A

(6/16/2015) Wtih outfielder Ender Inciarte heading to the disabled list, the Diamondbacks have recalled Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno. Dorn had an earlier stint with the Diamondbacks, collecting three hits over nine at-bats in what was his first taste of the Major Leagues.

At Triple-A this season, Dorn is hitting a robust .426/.470/.628 with four home runs and 25 RBI in 148 at-bats.

Dorn is in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels. He will be at first base and bat second for manager Chip Hale.


Diamondbacks option Danny Dorn to Triple-A Reno

(5/10/2015) The Diamondbacks have optioned infielder Danny Dorn to Triple-A Reno, the team announced. They will make a corresponding roster move before Sunday's game.

Dorn was 2 for 8 coming into Saturday's game, where he came up with a pinch hit double off of Craig Kimbrel in the ninth, driving home two runs to tie the game and said it to extra innings.

(4/21/2015) The Diamondbacks recalled infielder Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday. They also moved catcher Gerald Laird (back) from the 15-day to the 60-day DL.

Dorn was hitting .474 (18 for 38) with one triple, two home runs, four doubles and eight RBI in 10 games for Reno.


Pete O'Brien, Danny Worth among seven Diamondbacks' cuts

(3/22/2015) The Diamondbacks reassigned seven players to minor league camp on Sunday. 

Players cut from the Major League team included: 

Catcher/infielder Peter O'Brien, a former second-round draft pick acquired by the D-Backs from the Yankees last season. O'Brien hit .250 in 13 spring games. 

Infielder Danny Worth, signed as an offseason free agent after five years with the Tigers. Worth hit .286 this spring.

RHP Jake Barrett, a third-round pick in 2012. He had a 9.00 ERA in four spring games.

OF Danny Dorn, who hit .194.

OF Nick Evans, who hit .211

RHP J.C. Ramirez, who had a 6.00 ERA in five games. 

Utility man Jamie Romak, who hit .286. 


Diamondbacks make a slew of roster moves

(3/9/2014) The Diamondbacks announced a slew of roster moves Sunday, which included Eury De La Rosa, Ender Inciarte, Alfredo Marte and Zeke Spruill being optioned to Triple-A Reno.

The Diamondbacks also reassigned Nick Ahmed, Jake Barrett, Mike Bolsinger, Danny Dorn, Nick Evans, Jake Lamb, Adam Russell, Matt Stites and Bobby Wilson to minor-league camp.


Danny Dorn likely out at least six weeks with fractured wrist

(3/4/2014) Diamondbacks first baseman/outfielder Danny Dorn will likely be out at least six weeks after being hit by a pitch Monday and suffering a nondisplaced fracture on his right wrist, the Arizona Republic reports.

Dorn was in the midst of a solid beginning to spring before suffering the injury, going 1 for 4 with a double, two walks and one RBI in four at-bats over three games. He fractured his wrist in his first plate appearance Monday.


Diamondbacks sign Danny Dorn to minor-league deal

(11/16/2013) The Diamondbacks have signed first baseman/outfielder Danny Dorn to a minor-league deal. Dorn hit .258/.335/.460 with 25 home runs, 82 RBI and eight stolen bases in 496 at-bats with Triple-A Toledo in 2013.
