Martinez is on his way to Minnesota, where the Phillies are playing. Martinez could replace Cesar Hernandez as the backup infielder, but no move has been announced.
Martinez was briefly called up this season, playing in three games. He's hitting .285/.344/.380 in 137 Triple-A at-bats.
