Stewart ran into trouble early on as he allowed four runs in the opening frame. He was rocked for seven runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings of work. He also issued three walks and saw his spring ERA rise to 6.75 on the year.

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (1/24/2013) The White Sox claimed recently-waived pitcher Zach Stewart from the Pirates Thursday, reacquiring one of the pieces of their Kevin Youkilis trade from last season. Stewart was waived last week, after the Pirates acquired him for a player to be named later from the Red Sox. Stewart could serve as insurance in case John Danks is not recovered from shoulder surgery.
