Ondrusek, 28, has spent the entirety of his three-year MLB career in Cincinnati with a 3.45 ERA (118 ERA+) in 174 2/3 innings. He was sent down to Double-A before the season to work on some mechanical flaws that popped up in spring training, and he gave up just one hit in 2 1/3 innings of work.

Ondrusek replaces Sean Marshall, who was placed on the DL with shoulder tendinitis, in the Reds' bullpen.
