Chien-Ming Wang one of four demoted by Reds

(3/20/2014) Veteran right-hander Chien-Ming Wang was among three pitchers sent by the Reds to minor league camp on Thursday. The others were Drew Hayes and Lee Hyde. Also sent down was infielder Argenis Diaz.

The 34-year-old Wang has not been effective since 2008, though he performed decently for Washington in a short stint in 2011.


Hyde designated for assignment

(4/23/2011) Nationals RP Lee Hyde was designated for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot for newly acquired infielder Brian Bixler the team announced on Saturday. Hyde is 1-0 with an 11.05 ERA in six relief appearances for Triple-A Syracuse.
