(4/23/2014) The Rangers have acquired minor league outfielder Dan Robertson from the Padres and sent pitcher Pedro Figueroa to the disabled list with elbow inflammation, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Robertson is batting .364 in 22 at-bats with Triple-A El Paso.

(4/23/2014) Rangers pitcher Pedro Figueroa was removed from Tuesday's game against the A's after suffering an elbow injury, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Figueroa threw just one pitch in the game, hitting a batter. He immediately began shaking his arm and was removed after a visit from the trainer. The team will likely have him undergo an MRI. Figueroa owns a 4.00 ERA and 3:3 K:BB ratio in nine innings.

(4/17/2014) Rangers reliever Pedro Figueroa picked up his second win of the season Thursday, in an 8-6 win over the Mariners.

Figueroa pitched 1 2/3 innings without allowing a base runner, and the Rangers' offense rallied from an early deficit to go up 7-6 in the fifth inning. It was Figueroa's second win in a row, as he also picked up the win in the team's previous game.

Figueroa has allowed four earned runs in eight innings of work this season, all of which came during his first appearance. He has racked up seven straight scoreless appearances since.

(3/26/2014) Rangers pitcher Pedro Figueroa has made the team's major-league bullpen, MLB.com reports. He has surrendered three earnd runs in seven innings while striking out six and walking none this spring.

"We always knew he had a big arm," general manager Jon Daniels said. "He's not just a left-on-left guy. He can throw multiple innings. He has had command issues in the past, but he has thrown quality strikes here in camp. This gives him an opportunity to show what he can do."

Figueroa went 3-4 with a 4.10 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 49:33 K:BB ratio in 59 1/3 innings with Triple-A Sacramento last season while also giving up four earned runs in three innings over five appearances with the A's.

(9/1/2013) The Athletics have recalled pitcher Pedro Figueroa from Triple-A Sacramento, MLB.com reports. Figueroa, who posted a 4.10 ERA over 59 1/3 innings with Sacramento, will give the Athletics another left-handed arm out of the bullpen.

(4/4/2013) The Athletics will attempt to convert reliever Pedro Figueroa back into a starting pitcher, according to MLB.com.

He made his major-league debut in 2012, pitching 21 2/3 innings over 19 appearances in relief while posting a 3.32 ERA and 1.43 WHIP, but was sent to Triple-A to begin the 2013 season.

"We want to stretch him out to throw more innings as a starter for us," A's manager Bob Melvin told MLB.com.

Figueroa was converted into a reliever after undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2010. That year, he had a 5.30 ERA, 1.58 WHIP and 57 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings as a starter at the Double-A level.
