Diamondbacks send RP J.C. Ramirez to Mariners

(7/27/2015) The Diamondbacks have announced that they have traded reliever J.C. Ramirez to the Mariners for cash or future considerations.

Ramirez, who has been pitching at Triple-A Reno, tossed 15 1/3 innings for Arizona earlier in the year and posted a 4.11 ERA.

(6/13/2015) The Diamondbacks recalled relief pitcher Allen Webster and designated pitcher J.C. Ramirez for assignment in corresponding moves on Saturday, the team announced.

Ramirez has a 4.11 ERA with 11 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings of work this season.

Webster (1-2) allowed 23 runs in 23 innings of work at Triple-A Reno this year.


Diamondbacks' J.C. Ramirez suffers first loss in 22 months

(5/25/2015) Diamondbacks reliever J.C. Ramirez dropped to 1-1 on the season, taking a loss against St. Louis on Monday. 

The loss was the first for Ramirez since July 13, 2013. 

Ramirez entered the game, which was tied at 2-2, in the bottom of the ninth inning, with the winning run on second base. He struck out the side on 14 pitches to send the game to extra innings.

Ramirez started the tenth, and the first batter he faced, Jhonny Peralta, hit a 1-2 pitch to left field for a walk-off home run.

(5/10/2015) The Diamondbacks selected the contract of pitcher J.C. Ramirez Sunday.

Ramirez has made 11 appearances with Triple-A Reno, tossing 11 2/3 scoreless innings while allowing four hits, issuing four walks and striking out five batters. The team transferred Patrick Corbin to the 60-day disabled list to clear a 40-man roster spot for Ramirez.


Pete O'Brien, Danny Worth among seven Diamondbacks' cuts

(3/22/2015) The Diamondbacks reassigned seven players to minor league camp on Sunday. 

Players cut from the Major League team included: 

Catcher/infielder Peter O'Brien, a former second-round draft pick acquired by the D-Backs from the Yankees last season. O'Brien hit .250 in 13 spring games. 

Infielder Danny Worth, signed as an offseason free agent after five years with the Tigers. Worth hit .286 this spring.

RHP Jake Barrett, a third-round pick in 2012. He had a 9.00 ERA in four spring games.

OF Danny Dorn, who hit .194.

OF Nick Evans, who hit .211

RHP J.C. Ramirez, who had a 6.00 ERA in five games. 

Utility man Jamie Romak, who hit .286. 


Diamondbacks sign three to minor-league deals

(12/6/2014) The Diamondbacks have signed pitcher J.C. Ramirez, catcher Blake Lalli and outfielder Carlo Testa to minor-league deals.

Ramirez made 35 appearances between Double-A and Triple-A in 2014, posting a 3.05 ERA and 29:19 K:BB ratio in 44 1/3 innings. Lalli hit .275/.340/.373 with three home runs and 29 RBI in 284 at-bats for Triple-A Reno. Testa spent 2014 with Wichita of the independent American Association, hitting .338/.398/.521 with 10 home runs, 58 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 397 at-bats.
