"I don’t want to speculate on any of that," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said Saturday. "They’ve been working hard. They stay positive, and they’ve been handling it extremely well. Junior Lake benched again Friday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(6/20/2014) Left fielder Junior Lake has apparently not yet gained the full confidence of Rick Renteria. He is out of the lineup for the second straight game Friday in favor of Chris Coghlan. There has been no word of a physical problem that would be keeping Lake sidelined.

Lake hasn't gone into long droughts for the Cubs, but has been on the whole unproductive since late May. He has 14 hits in 80 at-bats since May 23 as his average has fallen from .280 to .236. His on-base percentage of .265 and ridiculous 75 strikeouts in 212 at-bats are certainly a concern.
