"There is some soreness still, but it's not locking up," Moreland said to the Dallas Morning News. "If it continues to lock up, then the answer is obvious. But if there are no issues with it, there are no reasons in my mind to mess with it. I can deal with soreness. You deal with a lot of soreness throughout the year."

Rangers' Carlos Peguero hopes strong spring equals roster spot

by Elliott Smith | Staff Writer
(3/22/2015) Outfielder Carlos Peguero has played well in spring training in the past but hasn't been able to get that to translate to a consistent job in the bigs. He's at it again for the Rangers, racking up another three-hit game Sunday in their loss to the Mariners, and hoping he can make the Opening Day roster, per MLB.com.

Peguero is hitting .440 this spring, giving him a solid chance of earning a job in the Rangers' outfield. In his past four springs, Peguero registered an impressive .335 average, but over the same time frame once the real season starts, he hit just .196 in 69 MLB contests.

"I'm just trying to have fun and don't try to do too much," Peguero said. "I'm not being in a hurry and putting pressure on myself."

The left-handed hitting Peguero is five for 10 against right-handed pitchers, with three extra-base hits, and he may end up sharing the left field job in a platoon.

“He’s a force,” manager Jeff Banister said, according to Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News. “He’s intriguing.”
