Mariners option Carlos Peguero back to Tacoma

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(4/29/2013) The Mariners optioned outfielder Carlos Peguero to Triple-A Tacoma Monday before a game against the Orioles. Peguero was sent out to make room for the activation of Michael Saunders off the disabled list, MLB.com reports.

Peguero played in two games for Seattle during his short time in the majors. He went 2 for 6 with a home run, walk, run scored, two strikeouts and a stolen base. The 26-year-old heads back to the minors where he was hitting .246 over 61 at-bats before being called up.

Peguero will replace Franklin Gutierrez, who was put on the disabled list with a strained hamstring. Gutierrez is expected to miss three weeks.

Mariners option Carlos Peguero to Triple-A

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/22/2013) The Mariners announced Friday that outfielder Carlos Peguero has been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

Peguero turned in a solid line this spring, hitting .341/.386/.659 with three home runs in 41 at-bats. However, with the Mariners adding multiple outfielders this offseason, he didn't have a great chance breaking camp with the team. A very good power hitter in the PCL over the last two names, he's one to keep in mind in AL-only leagues if the Mariners' OF depth wears thin.

Peguero homers twice in spring game

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(2/27/2013) Seattle outfielder Carlos Peguero had a big Cactus League game Wednesday against Cleveland. Peguero homered twice in the game as he went deep in the third inning off Brett Myers and in the fourth against Corey Kluber. Peguero, who is vying for a backup outfield job this spring, went 2 for 4 with two RBI and is batting .444 on the spring season to this point.
