Carlos Peguero clears waivers, will start year at Triple-A

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(4/2/2014) Outfielder and one-time top prospect Carlos Peguero has cleared waivers and will open his season at Triple-A Omaha.

Peguero, who was traded by the Mariners to the Royals in the offseason, has yet to make consistent contact. He has fanned 84 times in 205 major league at-bats, which is one reason why his playing time at that level has decreased every year season since 2011.

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(3/25/2014) The Royals have designated outfielder Carlos Peguero for assignment Tuesday.

Peguero was DFA'd after the team claimed pitcher Patrick Schuster on waivers. Peguero was acquired by the club in January, but didn't make enough of an impact to stick with the team.

Royals pick up Carlos Peguero in trade with Mariners

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(1/29/2014) The Royals acquired outfielder Carlos Peguero from the Mariners in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations. The trade was announced Wednesday.

Peguero has appeared in 65 games over the last three seasons for the Mariners, batting .195 with nine home runs and 27 RBI. Peguero had much better numbers in the minors, batting .274 with a .504 slugging percentage, .838 OPS, 137 home runs and 518 RBI over eight seasons.

Mariners DFA Carlos Peguero

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/16/2014) The Mariners have designated outfielder Carlos Peguero for assignment on Thursday. Peguero batted .260/.321/.460 slash line with 19 homers and 83 RBI over 454 at-bats at Triple-A Tacoma last season.

Mariners option Carlos Peguero back to Tacoma

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(4/29/2013) The Mariners optioned outfielder Carlos Peguero to Triple-A Tacoma Monday before a game against the Orioles. Peguero was sent out to make room for the activation of Michael Saunders off the disabled list, MLB.com reports.

Peguero played in two games for Seattle during his short time in the majors. He went 2 for 6 with a home run, walk, run scored, two strikeouts and a stolen base. The 26-year-old heads back to the minors where he was hitting .246 over 61 at-bats before being called up.

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(4/26/2013) Mariners outfielder Carlos Peguero drew the start in right field Thursday with Michael Morse receiving a day of rest. He went 1 for 2 with a solo home run and a walk out of the seventh spot in the lineup.

Peguero hit .246/.351/.426 in 61 at-bats at Triple-A Tacoma before being recalled Tuesday.

Mariners call up outfielder Carlos Peguero

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(4/23/2013) The Mariners have recalled outfielder Carlos Peguero Tuesday.

Peguero will replace Franklin Gutierrez, who was put on the disabled list with a strained hamstring. Gutierrez is expected to miss three weeks.

Mariners option Carlos Peguero to Triple-A

by R.J. White | CBSSports.com
(3/22/2013) The Mariners announced Friday that outfielder Carlos Peguero has been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

Peguero turned in a solid line this spring, hitting .341/.386/.659 with three home runs in 41 at-bats. However, with the Mariners adding multiple outfielders this offseason, he didn't have a great chance breaking camp with the team. A very good power hitter in the PCL over the last two names, he's one to keep in mind in AL-only leagues if the Mariners' OF depth wears thin.

Peguero homers twice in spring game

by Jeff Lippman | CBSSports.com
(2/27/2013) Seattle outfielder Carlos Peguero had a big Cactus League game Wednesday against Cleveland. Peguero homered twice in the game as he went deep in the third inning off Brett Myers and in the fourth against Corey Kluber. Peguero, who is vying for a backup outfield job this spring, went 2 for 4 with two RBI and is batting .444 on the spring season to this point.
