Edinson Rincon sent to Omaha

(9/7/2013) The Royals outrighted infielder Edinson Rincon to Triple-A Omaha Saturday. Rincon was designated for assignment last week.

The infielder did not get claimed off waivers and remained in the Kansas City organization. He hit just .154 over 13 games with Double-A Arkansas this year.

Royals make flurry of roster moves Tuesday

(9/3/2013) The Kansas City Royals promoted the following six players to the roster Tuesday before a game against Seattle, the Kansas City Star reports. 

As expected, Louis Coleman and Wade Davis have rejoined the bullpen from Class A Wilmington. The Royals also promoted for Triple-A Omaha players as infielder Johnny Giavotella and reliever Donnie Joseph were recalled and Carlos Pena and Pedro Ciriaco had their contracts purchased. 

Kansas City cleared space on the 40-man roster by moving pitcher Noel Arguelles to the 60-day disabled list and designating infielder Edinson Rincon for assignment. Rincon was at Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

(8/1/2013) Royals third baseman Edinson Rincon began a rehab assignment in the Arizona Rookie League Wednesday by going 0 for 2 at the plate, the Kansas City Star reports. Recovering from knee surgery, Rincon has been out since spring training.

(6/6/2013) The Royals claimed third baseman Edinson Rincon off waivers from the Padres Thursday and optioned him to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.

Rincon, who has yet to play this season while recovering from a knee injury, hit .291/.321/.413 with 10 home runs in 494 at-bats with Double-A San Antonio in 2012. He has a career .285/.355/.422 line in 1,812 minor-league at-bats.


Padres request unconditional release waivers on Edinson Rincon

(6/3/2013) The Padres announced Monday they have requested unconditional release waivers on minor-league infielder Edinson Rincon, who has been on the disabled list this year due to a knee injury suffered in spring training.

Rincon has hit .285/.355/.422 with 40 home runs and 209 RBI in 1,812 career minor-league at-bats.

(5/28/2013) The Padres designated infielder Edinson Rincon for assignment Tuesday to make room on the 40-man roster for the activation of catcher Yasmani Grandal from the restricted list.

Rincon has been on the disabled list all season due to a knee injury suffered in spring training. He hit .291 at Double-A San Antonio last year, with 10 home runs.
