Garcia had been hot at the plate, but struggled mightily in a four-game series against Cleveland with just one hit in 14 at-bats. He still owns a fine slash line of .319/.359//451.

White Sox outfielder J.B. Shuck trying take pressure off himself

by Brandon Wise | CBSSports.com
(3/18/2015) White Sox prospect J.B. Shuck is trying to work out the kinks still. Shuck struggled in 2014, posting a .167 average in 22 games with the Angels. Shuck thinks he put too much pressure on himself to succeed, reports MLB.com.

"The biggest thing for me was that I pressed to much," Shuck said. "In this game, you can't do that. Once you have a bad game or a bad two games, it snowballs, and it can go quick. This year, I'm really focused on whatever happens, happens. The next day, I'll come out, do my same work and hopefully the outcome is different."

Shuck, who has a chance to be a backup outfielder for Chicago, is ready to fill whatever role is needed.

"Whatever they need me to do, I want to help in any way I can," Shuck said. "Right now, if it's coming off the bench, maybe laying down a bunt, pinch-running, playing defense, maybe getting a hit late in the game -- whatever it is, I'm looking forward to it, and I'm excited to get the opportunity."
