Toronto's Sean Ochinko gets 50-game suspension

(8/26/2013) Blue Jays minor league catcher Sean Ochinko, who was playing for Triple-A Buffalo, has been suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball after he tested positive for an amphetamine, the National Post reports. 

Ochinko was batting .220 over 50 games with Buffalo. He had three homers and 17 RBI over 150 at-bats and is not considered a top prospect. 


Blue Jays send four to minor league camp

(3/14/2013) The Blue Jays have reassigned catcher Sean Ochinko and pitchers Chad Beck, Tyson Brummett and Mickey Storey to minor league camp.

Ochinko hit .250/.308/.417 in 13 plate appearances this spring, collecting two doubles while striking out three times and walking once. Beck allowed three earned runs on five hits and a walk in seven innings while striking out seven batters, Brummett allowed two runs on five hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings while striking out five, and Storey surrendered just one run on four hits and four walks in 5 1/3 innings while striking out four.
