Stutes had a nice debut with the Phillies in 2011, posting a 3.63 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 62 innings, but only appeared with the team briefly in 2012.

Stutes back in game action

(2/25/2013) Phillies pitcher Michael Stutes allowed two runs on one hit in an inning of relief during Philadelphia's 10-1 loss to Detroit in Grapefruit League play Monday. Stutes was making his first appearance in a game since last April after he missed the majority of the 2012 season recovering from shoulder surgery. He faced six batters in the sixth inning and also issued two walks while failing to register a strikeout.

Stutes recovered from surgery

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(2/13/2013) MLB.com reports Phillies reliever Michael Stutes, who missed most of last season due to shoulder surgery, said he is not limited as camp opens. He has thrown eight bullpen sessions since beginning a throwing program in early January. “It was kind of an immediate thing,” he said of the improvement following surgery. “Three, four days after surgery I was already (raising my arm) up over my shoulder. I haven’t had any sort of setbacks or anything like that, so it’s been pretty encouraging ever since I started throwing again. It kind of feels like a brand new shoulder. I don’t have the clicking and catching that I was feeling last year. It’s good that it’s not anymore.”
