Blue Jays release pitcher Juan Oramas

(4/7/2015) The Blue Jays released pitcher Juan Oramas so he can continue his playing career in Mexico, according to Sportsnet.ca. Oramas was designated for assignment Sunday.

(4/5/2015) The Blue Jays finalized their opening day roster, adding three players to their 40-man, in order to break camp with them on the team.

Non-roster invitees who made the team are: RHP Miguel Castro, who went 0-1 with a 2.19 ERA, RHP Roberto Osuna, who was 2-0, 2.19, and infielder Devon Travis, who hit .359.

To make room, the Jays placed pitcher Marcus Stroman on the 60-day disabled list and designated pitcher Juan Pablo Oramas for assignment.

Outfielder Michael Saunders (knee) and infielder Maicer Izturis (groin) were placed on the 15-day DL.

(12/19/2014) The Blue Jays have claimed left-handed pitcher Juan Oramas off waivers from the Padres on Friday, per the team's official website. Oramas posted a 5.61 ERA primarily as a starter last season at Triple-A.

(11/21/2013) The Padres added minor-league pitchers Keyvius Sampson, Juan Oramas and Donn Roach to the 40-man roster Wednesday. The team also designated outfielder Jaff Decker and pitchers Brad Brach, Miles Mikolas and Jose De Paula for assignment.

Sampson went 12-7 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 135:62 K:BB ratio in 141 1/3 innings between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Tuscon last season. Oramas went 3-2 with a 3.07 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 64:16 K:BB ratio in 55 2/3 innings over 12 starts with Double-A San Antonio. Roach went 8-12 with a 3.53 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 77:40 K:BB ratio in 142 2/3 innings over 28 starts with Double-A San Antonio.

Decker went 4 for 26 with the Padres last season, hitting one home run and driving two in. Brach made 33 appearances for the Padres, going 1-0 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 31:19 K:BB ratio in 31 innings. Mikolas made two scoreless appearances for the Padres. De Paula went 4-6 with a 3.86 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB ratio in 74 2/3 innings over 14 starts with Double-A San Antonio.

(3/15/2012) The San Diego Padres made their first cuts of the spring Thursday and moved the following players to their minor-league camp: Blake Tekotte (Triple-A Tucson), Juan Oramas, Jose De Paula, Erik Hamren, Edinson Rincon (Double-A San Antonio), Rymer Liriano (Class A Lake Elsinore), Robbie Erlin and Jason Hagerty.
