Perez appeared in 13 games for the Nationals in 2012, mostly as a defensive replacement in the month of September.

Werth is expected to be placed on the disabled list Saturday.
Perez has hit .346/.352/.439 with one home run and seven stolen bases in 108 plate appearances for Triple-A Syracuse this season.
