Angels option reliever Cam Bedrosian to Triple-A

(7/1/2015) The Angels optioned reliever Cam Bedrosian to Triple-A Salt Lake after Tuesday's game against the Yankees, according to The Orange County Register. He has a 4.60 ERA through 15 relief appearances this season for Los Angeles.

(5/24/2015) Angels pitcher Cam Bedrosian didn't receive a warm welcome to the majors on Sunday. Bedrosian, who was called up to replace the injured Mike Morin, allowed three runs on four hits in just 1/3 of an inning in Los Angeles' 6-1 loss to the Red Sox.

"Had to give him the ball and hopefully give him a chance to get his feet on the ground and get a good inning," manager Mike Scioscia said to the Orange County Register. "The stuff looked good but he couldn't command it enough to be effective."


Angels place Mike Morin on DL, call up Cam Bedrosian

(5/24/2015) The Angels placed reliever Mike Morin on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique. 

Morin left Saturday's game with the injury. To replace him, the Angels called up Cam Bedrosian from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Morin is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA in 20 appearances. Bedrosian is 1-0 with a 3.15 ERA at Salt Lake.

(4/29/2015) The Angels have sent pitcher Cam Bedrosian back to Triple-A Salt Lake following the team's loss on Tuesday, the organization has announced.

Bedrosian had been recalled by the Angels from Triple-A on April 21.

During his breif stint with the big club, Bedrosian allowed no runs and three hits in three innings over two relief appearances.

(4/21/2015) The Angels recalled right-hander Cam Bedrosian from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Tuesday's game against the A's, per the Orange County Register. Bedrosian pitched eight scoreless innings while striking out 13 at Triple-A this season. The team optioned first baseman and outfielder Efren Navarro to Triple-A, per the Los Angeles Times.

"I have been throwing the ball well I think," Bedrosian said, per the Orange County Register. "Once I got sent down (in spring training) there were a couple things I was working on and so far it's working."

RHP Cam Bedrosian was sent to the minor leagues. The Angels' first-round draft pick in 2010 had a 5.06 ERA in five games this spring. 

LHP Adam Wilk was also demoted. The 27-year-old had a 3.68 ERA in six games.

(3/3/2015) Angels reliever Cam Bedrosian is working on his location this season, according to MLB.com.

Bedrosian strugged in 19 1/3 innings last season, but knows his stuff can play in the majors. For him, it's all about putting the ball in the right place. "The big thing is just keeping the ball down," he said. "A lot of times last year, it was up too much, getting too excited. Guys get in the box, and you want to do too much with it. The only thing I have to do is just keep the ball down."

Bedrosian said minor-league players will bite on high fastballs, but stressed that players are "a lot more disciplined" in the majors. Though Bedrosian faces an uphill battle to open the year on the 25-man roster, that's his goal this spring. 

The 23-year-old posted a 6.52 ERA over 19 1/3 innings in the majors last season. 


Angels decide on September call-ups

(9/2/2014) The Angels have added six players to the September roster, accordign to the Los Angeles Times.

The team called up pitchers Cam Bedrosian, Wade LeBlanc, Vinnie Pestano and Cory Ramus today. Outfielders Brennan Boesch and Tony Campana were also promoted to the major-league club. 

The team also added John Buck, C.J. Cron, Shawn O’Malley, Luis Jimenez and Efren Navarro .

Bedrosian joinedd the team a few days ago and made one appearance while with the Angels, surrendering a solo home run in an inning of work and striking out two. He owns a 7.71 ERA and 13:7 K:BB ratio in 11 2/3 innings.

Bedrosian has a 1.30 ERA over 41 2/3 innings in three stops in the minors this season, and will make his major-league debut upon appearing in his first game with the Angels.

The Angels made a few other changes to their bullpen. They optioned Michael Roth to Triple-A Salt Lake, while recalling Cam Bedrosian and Fernando Salas.

They optioned pitcher Cam Bedrosian to Double-A Arkansas, while also recalling Cory Rasmus from Triple-A Salt Lake and selecting the contract of pitcher Drew Rucinski from Double-A Arkansas. 

Also, pitcher Nick Maronde was designated for assignment.

(6/19/2014) Angels manager Mike Scioscia told reporters Thursday that he is not going with one defined closer moving forward, MLB.com reports.

Ernesto Frieri was bypassed in a save situation Thursday against Cleveland. Frieri entered the game after Cam Bedrosian loaded the bases and promptly gave up a grand slam game-winner to Nick Swisher.

"I don't think it's any different from what we talked about," Scioscia said when asked if Frieri is his closer, per MLB.com. "What's different from matching up like we talked about?"

Bedrosian has Tommy John surgery

(5/18/2011) The Los Angeles Times reports that Angels SP prospect Cam Bedrosian had Tommy John surgery earlier this month. Bedrosian had not pitched this season, as he had been dealing with a strained elbow since extended spring training. He is expected to be out for 12 to 15 months. Bedrosian was the Angels' first-round pick in the 2010 amateur draft.
