Cardinals add five to active roster

(9/2/2014) The Cardinals recalled pitchers Marco Gonzalez, Nick Greenwood and Tyler Lyons and catcher Tony Cruz from Triple-A Memphis Tuesday, to take advantage of roster expansion.

The team also activated pitcher Jason Motte from the disabled list, after his recovery from a back strain in early August. 


Cardinals make some roster moves Sunday

(8/31/2014) The Cardinals announced Sunday they recalled pitcher Kevin Siegrist and infielder Pete Kozma from Triple-A Memphis. Pitchers Marco Gonzales, Nick Greenwood and Tyler Lyons were optioned to Double-A Springfield.

Nick Greenwood gets back from Triple-A

(8/8/2014) The Cardinals recalled pitcher Nick Greenwood from Triple-A Memphis Friday, two weeks after he was sent down to clear space on the active roster.

Greenwood joins the team with Jason Motte heading to the disabled list. He had a 4.74 ERA in 19 innings while mostly working in long relief during his previous stint with the team.

(7/23/2014) The Cardinals activated reliever Kevin Siegrist (forearm, shoulder) off the 15-day disabled list prior to Wednesday's game vs. Tampa Bay. Nick Greenwood was optioned to Triple-A Memphis to clear a roster spot.

Nick Greenwood surrenders home run, takes loss Tuesday

(6/25/2014) Cardinals pitcher Nick Greenwood was charged with a loss Tuesday after giving up three earned runs on five hits and one walk in 1 2/3 innings in his team's 10-5 defeat against the Rockies.

Greenwood (1-1) was brought into the game in relief of Shelby Miller, who exited in the third inning with a back issue. After getting out of the third inning, the reliever surrendered a three-run home run in the fourth to put the Rockies up for good. Greenwood owns a 5.14 ERA in seven innings through four appearances.


Nick Greenwood picks up first career win

(6/16/2014) Cardinals pitcher Nick Greenwood picked up the win in a long-relief outing Monday night against the Mets.

Greenwood relieved spot-starter Carlos Martinez and logged 3 1/3 innings of work. He allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out three in a 6-2 win. He owns a 2.70 ERA and a 0.90 WHIP following his first major-league appearance.
